Praise for Tesco.com

As you might have read, I am off sick right now so am relying on Tesco.com to supply my household with groceries - they are doing really well, but last week I had three jars of meat paste, total £1.56 which had popped their tops!! I mean the button in the centre was depressed...and so was I when I came to use them for sandwiches and discovered they were off.

Me being me, I phoned customer services and complained, and said that I would return these to the driver. I explained I had nothing for sandwiches....the customer service excelled himself by not only immediately refunding the £1.56 to my card, telling me to throw the items away not return them to the driver, but then went on to send me an e-voucher for £5 off my next order.

So that should be the end of the story, right? But it's not....because today I got another delivery and whilst everything was fine in the items I ordered, I noticed that I had been charged £5.40 more than I should have, as I had used the vouchers I had to take this amount off my shopping....my account had gone overdrawn due to the fact that they did not take off this voucher amount....I phoned again, and had to send my husband in to put money into my account to cover the overdrawn amount....what did Tesco do? Explained to me that the vouchers had not been correctly applied by the store, so they refunded me the 40p off my tomatoes to my card, and cancelled the £5 voucher which had not been correctly redeemed by the store, and gave me a £10 voucher instead off my next shopping....not only that...phew!! but they said they would take a careful note of the problem in case it cropped up once more, as vouchers incorrectly applied by the store were unusual and maybe it would save a customer in future having the same problem...this is above and beyond the call of duty, in my book.

Take a bow, Tesco, for looking after a rather ill lady with extra special customer care! :) :)

I always use Tesco.com for my main shopping every month & they are awesome never had any problems. Where as i had problems with Asda.com last year the delivery didn't turn up & had loads of hassle to resolve it...

I have made the mistake of ordering my shopping with tescos twice before. The first time, most of the fruit and veg was going bad or very near its expiry date. After complaining, they assured me it wouldnt happen again, but the exact same thing happened the next time.

And now, with sainsburys, problems are a thing of the past.

I wonder if it is related to the individual stores? I was told by a Tesco driver that the Tesco.com operation only exists at Tesco Superstores, not just normal Tesco supermarkets so it is the bigger (and some would say less personal) stores who run the .com operation....I wonder if that would make them less caring and less individualistic....I know that every person's experience is different and we just have to take this as it comes, but seriously, I can find no fault whatsoever with them. :)

OOh sorry to hear you have all had problems, i usually just send a blunt email if i am not satisfied, and to be honest Sainsburys is the only company to have not resolved, or even replied to my complaint! But be reassured that they do want you to be happy and will compensate and apologise if you feel you have been let down, do not forget this delivery thing is relatively new and any feedback is taken on board by them so ALWAYS let them know and then you will end up with a practically first class service!!
PS i have never really had a problem with Tesco! and i shop regularly online with Tesco, Asda and Sainsburys, and Asda always redeem themselves to my satisfaction.

Yes, always complain when you can, but give praise where it is due in the right quarters too....I am glad your experiences have been in the main, good, Serena, and doesn't it save so much money??? :)
