Thanks for asking, Ros...not great, I have to say....the antibiotics/penicillin do not seem to be helping me very much, and I feel breathless just getting upstairs to the loo....I wish we had a downstairs one!

I don't know how much longer this will last and it is giving me cause for concern as I have so much work waiting for me when I return to work, but I have a doctor's appointment on Wednesday morning to check on my progress and to see if I need to be signed off work for a further week, or need more antibiotics. Interestingly when I looked online for more information it appears I have pleurisy caused by bacteriological means, which may also mean that there could be complications such as fluid in the lungs....my chest felt as if someone had lit a bonfire in it last night, and I found it very hard to sleep.

Yes Lizzie fluid on the lungs is a common problem with Pleurisy, i think you are going to be off for AT LEAST 2 weeks, my husband was.
My husband said make another appointment for tomorrow if you are concerned about anything, and the way you feel, that's what they are paid for! Please!

The odd thing is, too, Ros.....I seem to have been diagnosed with Asthma at the same time but I don't know if this is permanent or will go away after the Pleurisy does...it is worrying and I am a sort of worrying person....I let things get under my skin, you know? I would have liked some reassurance from some medical quarter because if you read things online about anything it makes you worry more!

Sorry to hear that things are not improving Lizzie.I'd stayaway from self on line diagnosis.The last thing you want is to read between the lines and then worry, probably unnecessarily.Hopefully the doctor can give some positives on Wednesday.Take care.

Thanks, I might do that Serena....maybe I will phone them, but I will definitely have to take a taxi to the appointment on Wednesday if I still feel the same way because walking is out of the question!

I agree, John, my husband has just said the same thing.....stop worrying and let things take their course....I am not known for my patience!

I slept quite badly last night and feel quite done in today....I am having a quiet day today and my husband is doing the housework and my daughter is going into town to run a few errands for me and I have phoned in to work and am off all this week, also, I have booked a taxi to take me to my doctor's appointment on Wednesday morning and hopefully he will give me some more medicine to take away the painful feelings which seem to still persist despite using my inhaler regularly and my medicine, which has today and tomorrow to go until the 7 day course is finished.
