Did you all get the email (below) from Newvistalive? I think it is proof positive that things are being done thanks to our feedback to panels. It is good to know they listen and hear what we say in terms of improving panel/panellist relationships!!! -

Dear newvistalive Community Member,

Thank you for your continued support of the newvistalive panel – we really appreciate the time you give us to complete our surveys. We are contacting everyone on our panel to communicate some changes we are making.

We have been reviewing the feedback from our Member Insight survey which was sent out to everyone last week - thank you if you have contributed to this.

Nearly 7,000 of you have given your views so far and there is a key area you would like us to address.

More flexible points for surveys
Our Member Insight survey also shows us that 67% of you would like to receive more surveys from us. newvistalive has a mixture of simple and complex surveys and we have previously awarded points based on the length of time we think you need for the survey.

We are now going to award points taking into account how easy the survey might be. We will still clearly tell you how many points will be awarded for a survey in the survey invitation.

These changes mean we will still be sending you similar surveys as before but we hope that we will now be able to send you more surveys as well.

Interview length Incentive
Up to 5 minutes 50p to £1.00
10 minutes 75p to £1.50
15 minutes £1.00 to £2.50
20 minutes £1.50 to £3.50
30 minutes £2.50 to £4.50

We hope that these changes will be beneficial for you and will enable us to make newvistalive as successful as possible in 2012. Please email us at info@newvistalive.com if you have any questions.

Many thanks,

serena

this is an email from newvista on the 14/11/2010. SO YES THEY REALLY ARE LISTENING TO US ARNT THEY. LOOKS LIKE WE WILL BE GETTING LESS FOR OUR VIEWS THAN 14 MONTHS AGO.As indicated, you will receive a £2 credit on the successful completion of this survey.

Why not go and check out our updated website at http://www.newvistalive.com. From here you can log in and see your points value, learn more about us and check out the FAQs. Alternatively you can use the website to contact us with your thoughts and queries.

To access the questionnaire, which will take approximately 10 minutes of your time, please click (once only - do not "double-click";) on the hyperlink below or paste the URL into your browser.

Note: If you are using AOL, the url above may be on two lines. Please copy both lines and paste into your browser.

Initially the survey may contain questions to determine whether you are eligible to take part. If you are not eligible, the questionnaire will end there and you will be invited to take part in more surveys soon. Upon completion of the whole survey, we will add the payment points to your account within one month. Please note however that points will not be accredited if your answers are illogical or if a minimum amount of time has not been spent taking part in the survey. At all times we expect you to give careful consideration to each question before answering.

Thanks for taking part in our surveys, we really appreciate your time.

Best wishes from the newvistalive.com team,

Yes, Janet I think this is called smoke and mirrors. You do more for less! This statement sounds very ambiguous

"We are now going to award points taking into account how easy the survey might be. We will still clearly tell you how many points will be awarded for a survey in the survey invitation."

Meaning, you can take a 15 minute survey now and only get paid £1, it depends on their interpretation of, what is an easy survey. I'm not surprised their forums have been temporally closed. I can imagine there would be a lot of complaints.
