Hi terence,

How would you like to get rewarded, without doing anything you wouldn’t normally do each month on your computer?

Hard to believe, I know, but it’s true.

You can – this really works – after all Nielsen is one of the biggest market research firms in the world and has been going for over 80 years.

And this research is valuable – it helps find out what people are interested in, which leads to better products and services.

You don't have to do anything apart from join the programme.

There are no questionnaires to plough through. No endless filling out. Nothing.

Just register, download our app, then you're done. You’ll automatically receive £50 in shopping vouchers every year - with £10 immediately – for doing what you naturally do each month on your computer!

Interested?

Have a look here right now and see how easy it is to enter.

Hurry though - when we have enough panel members we will close the registration.

Why not register here right now? What do you have to lose?

Best wishes,
Nielsen

NO NO NO NO NO, to apps....sorry, Tez, I feel really strongly about downloading anything to my computer as I have said elsewhere.....maybe it is just me, but really they can thoroughly knacker your machine as well as watching everything you do, spying on your privacy, etc., etc.

My point is really that THERE IS NO NEED to download anything to your computer as you can do really well, enjoy taking surveys and earn quite enough for your needs, thank you very much, WITHOUT THE NEED TO DOWNLOAD anything at all!! :) :) maybe I am just a simple girl with simple needs, but why make anything difficult when it can be easy?

Sorry for SHOUTING but when I feel strongly about something, I just can't help myself, Tez. You are still my favourite young man brave enough to put your little face on your avatar :) :) but when are we gonna get an extreme close-up?? :) LOL...oh and by the way, you are all quite welcome to totally disagree with me with good reasons below....be my guest! :) or on the other hand, you might agree! :)

I had Nielsen on my computer and thought it was causing problems but since i got rid of it(and never won anything coincidentally after a couple of months)i still had the odd clich, so im not sure if it was ok or not as i always have good internet security installed(I always pay well for SOME things)So i am not sure if it was that or not?

It is kinda difficult to tell sometimes what causes glitches in the computer department....however, now I have said that, I will say that there are probably some people who are really really techy and can find out right away through computer diagnostics....maybe Botec or Baggy or someone techy will tell me.....but I think lots of people who use computers are self-taught like me and just feel their way around....am I right?! :)

Tez, yes, you poor lad, that was a terrible experience for you, how awful!! I was also the victim of an internet scam and it was not pleasant....leaves you with a loss of faith in human nature apart from anything else you have lost :(

I was also a victim of a scam and lost my e-bay account and consequently so did my son being associated with my address even though he had done nothing wrong! He also ordered something for £54.00 at the same time, lost all his money and never received his goods, e-bay are AWFUL!I totally despise this company!!!! Just for the way we were treated, with complete and total contempt, i could not believe it of a big company like theirs, and they would not even entertain emails from me explaining the situation, which i find contemptible!!
I WOULD NEVER RECOMMENd E-BAY TO ANYBODY IN CASE THEY EVER SUSPENDED THEIR ACCOUNT AND ASKED FOR PROOF OF IDENTITY, YOU WILL NEVER GET YOUR ACCOUNT BACK NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO, YOU ARE A CRIMINAL!!!

I would never use ebay either, as iv heard of bad feedback, i ordered from china wholesale once and i got ripped of for an empty box, so i rang paypal and they gave me a crime number to give to the police so they could then refund me, then they'd obviously chase the money up in there own time, now i will only order via paypal, nothing else, unless it's a big known brand.

I hope it never happends to anybody, as it makes you feel so low, been ripped off.

Thanks for that Terence, ive worked as a civil servant, in care homes, and air side for Gatwick airport, i am an honest and up font person, so i do not appreciate being treated like a criminal, but that is how they made me feel, awful company!!

Mmmmm ..... I was going to take a look at the site, but after reading the comments, I think I'll give it a miss. I'm sure that I've come across this site in the past and I wasn't that impressed with them. Sorry, Terry, but thanks anyway. T/c :¬)

Beware of anything that runs inside your computer, it can get up to all sorts of nonsense.
I was approached recently to install such an item and, as a software engineer, I asked for a copy of the source code so I could check it out. I heard nothing more. If there was nothing harmful involved there is no reason why they could not have let me have it, in my opinion anyway.

Nice to hear from you Baggy and to hear your views on the matter....I agree, if there is nothing to hide, they should be transparent!! :)

I agree with you too, Baggy. Personally, I don't feel that any of these things are transparent enough for me to ever trust them - but, more importantly, I value my privacy too much to ever allow any organisation to "peek in on me" whenever they wish. As a survey panelist, I offer information honestly and on my own terms - I like that I remain in control of what information I impart, and how and when I choose to do it. This is enough, I feel. There are other ways of gleaning information from you about what you buy, in particular, they could simply as that you scan your receipts.

I've noted what everyone has said about ebay, and I fully appreciate that everyone's experience is different - Serena, you've had a bit of a nightmare from what you say, but were you scammed by ebay or did you uncover your identity and password to a scammer outside of ebay's control? I know that this has happened to some people, and even I've had one of those emails that seemingly appear to be from ebay, asking me to sign in and "confirm" my identity and password. Ebay themselves regularly tell people that will never ask you to confirm your password in any way, so always check with ebay - VIA THE EBAY SITE - in the first instance.

No it was an online auction company who i signed up with unknowing that e bay did not work with them.
I was taken in by their professional approach, and paid £40.00 to join hoping to earn a little extra money, it was enjoyable, they gave you training and all sorts as well which i really enjoyed, then ebay asked me if i could prove the items i was selling belonged to me, and upon informing the auction company they told me i was not to mention their name! Alarm bells wrang!!
It all went downhill from there. So needless to say i am very weary of any company offering an easy way to earn money online now and steer well clear no matter how good they look!
Ebay were completely uninterested in my situation and could not care less that i had been scammed.
I was more upset when my son lost his money as he had nothing to do with it!

That sounds awful, Serena! There will always be conmen out there trying to get us to sign up to dodgy things - they make it sound so good, don't they?

Yes Katie, you would think i would have been more wise, but i think we all are capable of being scammed if we do not see any obvious warning signs eh! I just wish that ebay were as lovely and helpful as Amazon! Ebay did not care less about my situation, even after myself and my son sent all of our proof if ID things to them, total waste of time!
You do not even get to speak to someone human, i am sure as all the answers they gave us seemed to be automated, and totally uncaring! I knew this as they never even really acknowledged anything i said!!

We are all capable of being conned, Serena - you're in good company ;-) But you are absolutely right about ebay not being that helpful about things; and I don't think I've ever had a response from them that wasn't an automated one - very, very annoying!
