Scotmid Co-operative - Morning Noon & Night

I wanted to give a huge round of applause to the above company for their exceptional deals and offers as well as their customer services and their free magazine and membership offers.

Scotmid Co-operative are a company who have a co-operative like the Co-operative based in Manchester, but they are a little smaller, also own Semi-Chem and The Fragrance House and you can join them too. I only discovered this just over a year ago, when they had a huge refurbishment in my local convenience store. You can go into the shop and pick up a membership pack, or a savings card, and if you fill this in and hand a pound coin over the counter you get a pack in the post with £10 worth of vouchers to spend in Morning Noon & Night or Semi-Chem and you get a free magazine known as Jigsaw as well as membership of the Co-op. This means that you can take part in all sorts of local community activities and twice a year you will get mailings in time for summer and Christmas with money off coupons to spend in their businesses and surveys of the paper variety, (my favourite bit!) as well as a chance to contribute to their magazine in the form of readers letters for which they pay vouchers.

Their store is really well presented, and their suppliers are the same as the normal Co-operative but in some cases their deals are even better....they have regular reductions and often I can buy my dinner for only 10p on the way home from work...say a ready meal reduced from full price to 10p due to same day sell-by date.

Does anyone else know the company or their doings? Have you a local one near you or would you like to join? Just pop into your shop locally and they will give you a joining pack. Good luck and enjoy all the savings.

Do you still get your divi from the CooP these days

About me: I love surveys! You can't tell from reading any of my posts, though, can you?! I am a full time worker with two children and a full time house husband, are you jealous?
Why I like surveys: They are fun, interesting and lucrative, not to mention the fact that they can lead to amazing things!

Absolutely - wouldn't be without it! I got £30 in vouchers just before Christmas.....it really builds up, though! They are different from the Co-op, though, so it is like being a member of two Co-ops and getting paid twice!

An old friend, a delightful ex army Colonel of some advanced years, he was one of the guys who held the Pegasus bridge after D Day. He was a great guy but not of this world. One day he asked me, "Ken, what is a divvy?". When I told him and asked him why he wanted to know he said he had been to the local co-op, where he did his weekly shopping, and they told him he had a divi of £750. When I asked him what he did with it, and how he had managed to accumulate such a sum, he told me he had given it to the staff and they seemed quite pleased. I'll just bet they were. My next question was how he could have spent £15000 in one year as a man who lived alone, but with a very hungry boxer dog. You would not believe the rest of the story so I will stop here. Yes, he was very rich, now dead unfortunately, but a real gent and a very lovely man.

Given it to the staff??? I bet they were pleased!!! What kindness. It would not probably have meant anything to him if he was so rich anyway! What a lovely story.

Just a wee update here, I got a letter from the Scotmid Co-operative today and inside it were £20 worth of vouchers because they published a letter I had written to their Jigsaw bi-annual magazine. The magazine comes out at the end of June in the post to members. So join up quick!! Perfect timing too, as it is so far away until payday - not until next Thursday!!
