I have been a member of Advantage card for years and I've never recieved any mailings! Is it just me? I always tick those boxes that say you don't want to recieve any junk mail but maybe I forgot to tick yes to getting stuff from Boots themselves.. Thanks for lettting me know I'm missing out on something, I will ask in store when I'm in there next.

That's it, Kat, you have to say you want to receive mailings - just let them know instore, they are so so helpful!

I am also full of praise for Boots Advantage scheme. It is so handy to be able to pay with points especially when it is coming close to pay day and even a sandwich is a luxury I can't afford!!

I agree about being close to pay day....my Boots don't sell sandwiches though!! I love pampering treats with my points, though, I am worth it!!!

Just used my best ever voucher, which was spend £50 and get £5 worth of points along with a double points coupon and ended up with nearly £8 worth of Advantage card points! What's more, I have another one for a £50 spend and a double points coupon which can be used twice so I am quids in - which is really useful when sun protection is so expensive!

...and I am photosensitive! Which is not to say that I don't like my photo being taken!

I love the advantage card points and it is worth saving them up and using the double points vouches during the year so that at Christmas you can use the points to buy your presents.

Do you manage to save them that long, Lolly? I usually manage to find something to spend them on as soon as I have enough....I was always told as a youngster that money burns a hole in my pocket...I have to be spending, not saving!

Must admit I have never heard anyone say anything bad about boots, yet it gets very little good press. In fact Boots goes along quietly and does a sterling job with great friendly staff into the bargain.

True George, and they are always ready with good advice, pharmaceutical or otherwise. You are right, they do not push themselves forward with good press all the time, just have the occasional TV ad running away.

They have gone one better now, as I was in my local Boots yesterday and printed out on my receipt was the following -

Then there was a special code to enter and you will need your advantage card to hand to enter that too. If you go into your local Boots and get one of these, you will notice how much it has changed from the ones they used to offer. They used to use Empathica and have an international prize draw which was often won by people in Canada or America, but not often in this country, it was a bit like the Euromillions, loads of people entered, so not so many people had a chance of winning but now they have changed it and I have just taken part in one for the first time which I really enjoyed because they give you the chance to name the person who served you and they actually enter that person into a staff draw for an extra day's holiday! The ladies in our local Boots told me about this last year and were always giving me surveys to do as they knew how much I liked them but this one is much better as not only do you have the chance to win, and I entered, but you get an option to answer a few extra questions at the end for another draw to win 10 x £15 Boots gift cards. This is a local site and each local store has its own draw so you have a much greater chance of winning. Try your local store and see if your receipt is printed with a survey - if it is not, however, don't despair, if you know the staff there, ask them if they have a spare survey someone did not want to take part in, and they will give you one as they are asked to keep these behind the counter and give them out to anyone who is interested. I have filled in loads of those surveys as I visit Boots at least once per week, yet to date nothing, just a thankyou for taking the time to fill in the survey.

i feel the same boots rocks i am a mother of 3 and there tripple points are a life saver free dummys/fruit juice when were out of a cheaky sandwich that are even better now they teamed up with waitrose i have recomended boots to all my friends

They have saved my life many times, too, Natalie, even though my children are now grown up. I used to rely on their nappy offers!!

What is the Waitrose team-up about, haven't heard of that? But then we have no Waitrose stores locally and our Boots does not sell sandwiches.

The only thing I buy occasionally from Boots are its lavender products which are hard to find but now I find the same thing on EBAY for considerably less even with postage added on.
