I know this may be a shock but I am going to praise...

... my local MSP! I know that this is meant to be to praise and shame companies, however I felt the need to share my experience with my MSP Mr Jamie Hepburn. As you will have noted from my previous post on the help board, I am having a nightmare with my Housing Association. My flat is completely unsuitable for us due to my partners physical and mental health problems, anti-social behaviour, water penetration, damp, and mould. I have tried fighting our case to get moved and after letters, emails, and home visits, they are just not interested. The flats are to be demolished at some point in the next ten years and therefore I feel they don't really care what goes on. The different depts. involved jusy keep passign the buck which is even more frustrating. SHAME ON YOU SANCTUARY.
After getting fed up with all this, and my local CAB not being able to give me an appointment until over a month away. I contacted my MSP office to find out about surgeries. There are no surgeries at present, but I was given an email address. Mr Hepburn responded to my query within the hour and told me a colleague in his office would make contact with Sanctuary for me. He has been very understanding and very quick to respond to my emails (the last one he responded within 2 minutes!). Whether he is able to help or not, this has been the first time I have contacted a politician to help me and it has been a great experience!

Fingers crossed too from me. I am with a different housing association who have their ups and downs but are getting to realise that crossing me with excuses and apologies does not work until I, not them are satisfied.

Well done Lynn for that comment, which shows what a fine upstanding tough and consumer conscious lot us YSPers are....not content with taking shoddy treatment or accepting second best but asking for what is our right as British subjects - fair treatment, good customer service and politeness and honesty at all times. Good luck also Jo....do come back and let us know how you get on.

Good luck, Jo, you can't beat having someone with a bit of clout on your side.
