006.5 By: 006.5Date: 29 Jul 2011 4:45 PM Ruth I used to do surveys for Opinion World a couple of years ago, not know. You got the paid surveys and slowly but surely they were turning into prizedraw surveys and then charity surveys. At the end you were only getting about 1 in 10 paid surveys. I resigned with the equivalent of £16 in my fund such was my feeling on getting to the then £20 target
LizzieAnn About me: I love surveys! You can't tell from reading any of my posts, though, can you?! I am a full time worker with two children and a full time house husband, are you jealous? Why I like surveys: They are fun, interesting and lucrative, not to mention the fact that they can lead to amazing things! By: LizzieAnnDate: 29 Jul 2011 9:32 PM I agree with George, that is definitely the way it used to be and I resigned from the panel, but joined again last year when they advertised the fact that ALL surveys would incur points up until 31st December 2010 at which time, I thought, alarm bells started to ring, when the points dried up completely, I was stuck at 450 points....I think, Ruth, you need about 1000 to redeem, is that right?
Jo By: JoDate: 30 Jul 2011 8:50 AM I have had very good experiences with opinion world, and all my surveys give me the option for charitable donation or points. Do you get taken to a screen at the end where they show you three charities on screen? If so, there is a link below this where you can collect the points. I have redeemed twice with them (2000 points) and I am on 600 with them again.
Tracey Harman By: Tracey HarmanDate: 30 Jul 2011 10:46 AM I stopped answering the charity paid surveys months ago , but hey with your news I'm gonna log into my account and see if i have earned any points I wasn't aware of .
FriendlyLynn About me: Caring Christian lady who is disabled Why I like surveys: gives me a chance to share my views and gives me subjects to think about. By: FriendlyLynnDate: 09 Aug 2011 2:52 PM I too stopped doing their surveys but might reconsider if the points really are genuinely being awarded.
006.5 By: 006.5Date: 09 Aug 2011 4:40 PM FriendlyLynn, I agree, if points were genuinely awarded I would definately give it another try, but I will wait and see what transpires.

By: LizzieAnnDate: 09 Aug 2011 8:46 PM So do I George, she is very friendly, and the name really suits you, Lynn! I completed a survey just a few days ago and was awarded 150 points for it! I have around 600 now and only need 1000 for min. redemption, so I am trying to increase my points. You never know, they may go back to the way they were in 2010 when EVERY survey was awarded points, not just charity donations.

By: FriendlyLynnDate: 10 Aug 2011 4:42 PM I have rejoined and will await to see if they do start giving points again. Does any one know if the charities they claim to donate too actually receive the money claimed as they claimed to support a charity a few years back and when I telephoned the charity concerned they had received no such donation or even had contact with the survey company?
FriendlyLynn About me: Caring Christian lady who is disabled Why I like surveys: gives me a chance to share my views and gives me subjects to think about. By: FriendlyLynnDate: 10 Aug 2011 4:45 PM Yes it is deliberatly chosen for two reasons, it sums up me as a person and apparently people get put off by me being disabled and assume I am unfriendly, always grumpy and not nice to know which I hope I am the opposite of.
Tashatam By: TashatamDate: 20 Aug 2011 7:09 PM I can see no reason to do OW surveys for nothing on OW when I can do them on Survey Downline for a dollar a time or on Survey Network for 75p. It's pot luck how long you spend for your $/75p, but most of them are <20 minutes, some only 5 mins.

By: LizzieAnnDate: 21 Aug 2011 4:20 PM FriendlyLynn, I think that is sad and appalling that anyone would think you were grumpy or not nice just because you are disabled....I would say what I was told by a very old friend of mine once....if people have a problem with you, the problem is theirs, not yours....almost 99.9% of the time....they are at fault because they have axes to grind...not you. You should be at no pains to explain yourself to anyone, be all you want to be and to the devil with the rest!!
