Bren in St Albans By: Bren in St AlbansDate: 02 Dec 2010 12:11 PM I was disappointed by them recently - I am thinking of buying a new 3 piece suite and felt sure that they would remove the old one - especially at their prices - but they don't take away old furniture (except beds and fridges). If anyone knows of a furniture company that removes the old suite when they deliver the new one I would be very grateful!
Unsubscribed About me: Mother of 3. 2boys (55 and 50) and 1 daughter 57 Grandmother to 3 grandaughters from my youngest son and great grandmother to 1 great grandson. Why I like surveys: My eldest son George is your customer service champion, got me started with them and now I enjoy them, plus I make money. By: Unsubscribed Date: 03 Dec 2010 1:15 PM Hi Bren, as with the vast majority of Furniture / bed suppliers, they will deliver new furniture but will not takeaway the old. The reason for this is the bed bugs etc. Honestly. The delivery people can not afford to have any form of cross contamination on these goods, hence they wont take them away. With fridges the company has to have a special licence for disposing of fridges due to the chemicals inside them.
LizzieAnn About me: I love surveys! You can't tell from reading any of my posts, though, can you?! I am a full time worker with two children and a full time house husband, are you jealous? Why I like surveys: They are fun, interesting and lucrative, not to mention the fact that they can lead to amazing things! By: LizzieAnnDate: 07 Dec 2010 7:44 PM Bren, you need to contact your local sofa workshop....there are usually secondhand charities which will take away these things, I know we have a good few locally like First Start, and also sometimes auction rooms locally will take them for you for a very tiny commission on it if it sells. Our local furniture store sold our old three piece suite for us and we got £30 for it, and we did not have to pay for anything at all. I thought it was good of them, since the auction room was 30 miles away and we do not even drive in our family let alone have access to a van!
