If we could be scientific about this, perhaps we could divide the number of panelists (38,000ish) by the number of months in the year, and maybe that would be the answer, except how many August babies would you say there were?? Conception would be in December....if you think about that, then, Christmas holidays and all that.....wine, women and song.....office parties, other kinds of parties and too much vino collapso.....maybe that means there are more of them, on the other hand, it could mean there are less.....what a dilemma?!

My ex wife used to be a midwife and other months were busier than august. It is more the colder months that are busier for births. Dark nights, poor television and cheap booze have a bigger affect on population numbers.

Oh LizzieAnn if only you knew , I stopped buying presents for the extended family years ago .I'm one of fifteen kids and each of us all has at least 4 or 5 children . I just concentrate on the grandkids and my dogs now lol .I'd need to remortgage to afford pressies for the entire family !

What about handmade pressies? I crochet and knit, and it saves me lots of money!! I have a very small family though!!

Well I can knit , but its usually only good as a rather ineffective fishing net ..so many holes !I have never had the patience really , unfortunately if i was to give any of my family something handmade I know that it would be destined for the bin ..they are a materialistic bunch !

I like the rationale about the winter months George and i think there must be some truth to it.
Our whole company (not just YSP) has 49 full time staff and 9 of them (thats 18%) have birthdays in July,which puts conception October/November. So...Halloween fright night or Fireworks on bonfire night- which ever way you like to look at it!
