I did that one not with Virgin but with Sky and it backfired in my face big time. I held on thinking they would offer me a better deal... they cut me off, and I ended up with £100 bill for leaving early. Doh!!!!

Yes it is illegal, but with the cases going on in court for restriction of trade, sky may come off worse. I get my signal from Germany and pay someone over there by PayPal £21 every 3 months. Thats one way of putting 2 fingers up.

They are illegal in a sense, but, because you are purchasing your connection from abroad this is where the loophole in the law is. Sky saying you cant buy from abroad is a restriction on trading and your freedom to buy from who you want. This is why a case is currently going to the european courts and can take years to make judgment. The woman who brought this case in Portsmouth I think it is, has a pub and is currently still broadcasting her system as until it has been ruled on, she is not breaking the law. It is quite probable that it is sky who is breaking the law.
All you need to get this system up and running is a satelite dish, a modem and a dreambox, which is a small sky sort of receiver. Buy a what is called a C Line from a seller abroad for as little as £21 for 3 months at a time and your away.

Orange are doing a cheap broadband after looking around - for orange customers £5 a month plus £12.25 line rental, which is £17.25, the cheapest so far, if anybody could find a cheaper one it would be greatful.

as i'm using a t mobile dongle on pay as you go but streaming is abit of a pain and limits you after 4pm
