I have a friend who tried to go instore to apply for a Tesco clubcard and was told she couldn't pick up a leaflet to do so as they were in the process of changing the clubcard scheme....I wonder if that was what they meant, just ending the double points? I tend to think there might be a bit more to it than that as Tesco like to keep ahead of the game when it comes to consumerism....they don't like to feel they have any real competition...

from what i can gather is they are stopping double points and voucher exchange in a bid to reduced the cost of veg/fruit /bread/milk and other everyday products, this is expected to start a supermarket war!!

ooer, not good....I was told when I emailed Asda to ask them the question of why they did not have a loyalty scheme, that it was because they liked to keep their prices low all the time.....I wonder if Tesco are simply trying to compete more directly with Asda? It makes you wonder doesn't it?! Tesco already have the best loyalty scheme in any supermarket in terms of generosity so they could not really improve on this....double points was just to get ahead, I think.

I read that they were stopping the double points as well , and were going to introduce a 33% reduction on all prices throughout the store .Can't see it happening myself .I am going to ask customer services to see what is going on .

I can reassure you we are not stopping Clubcard Rewards, in fact we're increasing it on our popular rewards schemes from 3x to 4x the value. With Clubcard points however we are reverting back to the original 1 point for every pound you spend but this is enabling us to cut £500 million on prices within our stores. We will also be doing the Big Exchange again later this year so more value for your money!

I have just received my online shop and the changes have taken effect already .When I ordered on Friday my estimated bill was £196.61 , Today I checked my receipt everything I had ordered was there and the total was £ 187.53 . I saved £9.08 !!. If this is a sign of things to come , I don't think I'm going to be too affected by the double points disappearing .I am one happy bunny
