About two weeks ago I was invited to an online focus group via Tickbox.net with an incentive of £20 Amazon vouchers. Sat down at 7.30pm to take part and things were going fine but then our internet connection kept cutting out (BT still working on solution even now)and I couldn't complete the whole half hour session. When the connection stabilised I left a message on the open discussion board explaining the problem but being resigned to not receiving my incentive. Imagine my surprise when a few days later I received an e-mail from them listing the questions I had missed and asking that I reply via e-mail with my answers in order to qualify for the incentive which has subsequently arrived today. Yippee and thanks a million Tickbox

That,s brilliant! what a nice nice site. I did a forum with Tpoll about 2 weeks ago, and received the verify address e-mail about a week after and have been waiting for the cheque about a week now, hope it wont be much longer!

Wonderful, Jilly.....I did sign up for a couple of focus groups and a product test with Tickbox, but sadly was not chosen, but I live in hope....it is a feather in Tickbox's cap (who, by the way, have really gone up in the world recently and are being quoted lots in the press) that they met their obligations to their client, and to you the panelist, also. I am impressed. How did you receive the invitation, Jilly, was it through a normal survey on the site?

The forums are such fun, and always pay better but are not that easy to get into unless you are very flexible with your time which is why, I suspect, Tracey, you do so well, being mostly on night shift and having free days (if you ignore sleeping time of course!!) :P

Don't worry about your cheque, Serena, these things are usually at the end of the month, so hopefully you will get it in a few days.

Wow, will you be in the paper, Tracey?! I am always a bit shy about that although I did a telephone story a few years back and had a piece in a magazine which I got £150 for!! What was your incentive?

Your gonna laugh Lizzie .There wasn't an incentive .At least I don't think there was .I had a call from Heartmatters UK asking me if I would do the interview and then an hour later the reporter called me....anyway It was for a good cause , people should be aware of their cholesterol levels ..did you know the signs are almost identical to those of early menopause ?

No, I didn't know that, and I wish you hadn't told me...I am at that awkward age, you know.... :( :(

And you will have to train yourself better. I had a call last week and an Indian voice said "I would like you to take part in a survey for one quick moment...." Quick as a flash I asked what the incentive was....there was silence, so I hung up....I think the poor guy is still trying to figure out what the word incentive means....his English was rather bad!!!

I have trained myself to ask that every time I get asked to complete a survey by phone!

But you are quite right, it is a good cause, and my father-in-law has recently had a bad heart attack.

Is there any age when a woman is not awkward!

With a woman it only happens a few times in their lives , men are children from the start and never learn to grow up ..

A Woman ...Has a cold but carries on regardless , if she doesn't do it then who will .

A Man ..the same cold but because he's a man its Flu and he's dying , he needs to sit under blankets being cossetted having his every wish answered for...

As far as I know Lizzie, I think my invite to the focus group was just a random selection as I never tick the box 'would you like to receive info from our sponsor'

I always tick and enter my email address ,because I believe you are more likely to be chosen if you do .

Did you hear about the towering inferno , 12 people 11 men and 1 woman trapped on a rooftop a helicopter came but couldn't throw a ladder down as all they had was a rope , the rope was thrown and all 12 grabbed it clinging on for their lives .The man at the top of the rope noticed that it was fraying and in desperation screamed , ' there's too much weight .one of you will have to let go to allow the other 11 to survive '. They all looked at each other , finally the woman said . ' I'll let go and sacrifice myself , after all I am just a woman , You men are the bread winners , you bring home the cash and pay the bills put food in our childrens mouths , it's only right I should be the one to sacrifice '. The men so moved by the womans statement all clapped their hands .......Moral of this story Never underestimate a womans deviousness .;)
