Come on everyone, Lizzie has expressed her irritation by mis-spellers, so lets all give our pet hates.
Did you know that apparently we all have a small amount of Autism in us, my step son is autistic and his thing is cars, he can tell you your number plate and make of car by only looking at it for a few seconds then if you ask him a year later it is as fresh as the time he saw it, he can even recognize cars by only seeing a small part of the car any make, year or country made. But he also has to turn all the switches off at night and wont sleep if he thinks he has missed one!
My problem is my bed! If the quilt is not square on my bed and i do not have even coverage over my body it drives me mad!! I have even woken my husband in the night to put it straight, silly i know but it is such an irritation to me, drives me MAD!!

That is really interesting, Serena, I think you are right, you know, everyone does have pet hates, but also things they consider themselves to be expert at. If you have something you really love, then you can talk about it for hours....and bore the pants off everyone else, but if it is your special thing you don't think you are boring anyone...my son has an almost photographic memory too which has helped him to get fantastic passes in most of his subjects, especially history where you have to learn facts and figures, and in fact he is doing his Advanced Higher in that subject his year and really enjoying it.

I used to work with autistic and mentally handicapped children in a special school when I was younger and it was an education in itself...the immense patience and love is incredible, you feel quite a primitive savage compared to some of these absolutely wonderful children. I felt very humble too.

Yes i agree, my stepson was also diagnosed with dyspraxia and was told his future looked bleak, but he has a full time job and drives a car (his biggest triumph, obviously)he is hard work but i love him to bits, he is such a good friend and understanding, we have a good connection, although we get on like a love hate relationship we always end up putting the world to rights and having good debates about the world, also i must say that he is brilliant at spelling!! and is my biggest critic!! but you ask him what 2 plus 7 is and he has to think about it, bless, he was reading everything at 5/6 years old !

I think good connections are really important, Serena. We often put the world to rights as a family, and just all sit around jawing and sorting everything out....we call it "wobbling" because you sit there until you are tired, and shattered, then wobble off to bed!! :)
