Repeats

I am curious to know how often this happens, but how many times on average do you get a survey to complete for lots of different panels and your IP is not registered? I mean, is it incredible in this day and age that you can complete the same survey for so many different panels and they do not register the fact that you have completed it already by recording your unique ID - your computer IP?

I am curious to know because I always feel a little dishonest when I have completed a particularly long, arduous and valuable survey for a panel and been paid for it, then another panel asks me to do the same thing again. I don't mind, really, as it makes it easier if you have already done it, but that little nagging feeling of guilt creeps in. I mean, if all the survey answers are going back to the same company who commissioned the survey, how valuable is it to have say, six answers all the same from one panelist on six different panels? Do I make sense?

Does anyone else have any views on this? Or is it just me?! :)

This happened recently, I did one for mysurvey and it was for coffee with a sample to test and follow up survey. later the same day I started one for Toluna and realised it was for the same survey, so I cancelled out of it. Mysurvey paid 580 points in total but Toluna was only offering 2400pts for the first part.(in past ones for Toluna the most I have had is another 3000pts for the second part)Mysurvey gave me about £5 but if I had gone for Toluna I would have only got about £1?
I do not do repeats mainly as I think if someone is going to be caught, it will be me and I'll loose out on both!!!

I have completed several same surveys for different panel sites and the survey sites I tend to do this the most with, is Vivatic and New Vista.
I can get a Newvista survey via Vivatic and then in my email is an invite to Newvista is the same survey. This surprises me as Newvista are pretty hot on their survey participants and truth. But while they pay me I will continue.

Well, oddly, I agree with both of your points of view, and it is tricky. Whilst I do not want to be caught for duplication, the survey panel should record the IP of the person who completes the surey and I know in some cases it does, because if I have then gone on to complete for another panel, I get chucked out and am told I have already completed it....so yes, take the highest paying one!! :)

I've had this situation as well. Vivatic surprise me as had duplication of a survey with the newvista one's and they've paid out on it,

Vivatic surveys are NVL and Populus duplicates all the time, Ros, I think? :)

I would never have Neilsen on my computer, in my opinion it is very bad for you. I don't think any of the rewards are worth that kind of intrusion. Also, I share my computer with my husband who is fanatical about security and rightly so as there are so many odd viruses and scams around these days.

Well, what does anyone else think? Personally, I would never have installed it. Same with Keynote and the one that Mysurvey do....I just steer well clear of any of that kind of thing out of courtesy for my security conscious husband and the fact that it may do some damage to your computer. They say it is safe, but would they tell you if it was not??? It is a choice, Serena, but ask yourself if the rewards are worth the risk? :(

True, i suppose it was the thought of the prize draw amounts that pulled me in, but i probably would not win anything anyway, thanks for the advice, I just thought they had a good reputation, so it did not concern me to download their material.
