serena About me: I am a housewife currently, and my husband and 2 adult sons work full time, so i look after the house and finances. Why I like surveys: I enjoy giving my opinion and earning a little extra to help out with the shopping now and again and it keeps me occupied. By: serenaDate: 14 Nov 2011 1:50 PM I agree that there are too many adverts on television now, and even the funny or amusing ones get a bit boring after a while, i cant stand the ones where you have not got a clue what they are advertising and you guess all the way through..and then it is nothing to do with what you thought it was for in the first place!!
crusty About me: I am 62, retired and have never married. I live in a little cottage in the Yorkshire Dales with my presant cat Sarah. Why I like surveys: Apart from my relatives considering me to be an opinionated old whatsit, they give something to do and the cash helps with the cat treats. By: crustyDate: 14 Nov 2011 2:03 PM What I find annoying is a product advert will come on every break,it will follow you around from channel to channel. After a while you don't only hate the advert, you hate the product and everything to do with it, in fact you wouldn't buy it if it was the last one on earth. The whole thing has gone into complete over kill. ARHHHH!
LizzieAnn About me: I love surveys! You can't tell from reading any of my posts, though, can you?! I am a full time worker with two children and a full time house husband, are you jealous? Why I like surveys: They are fun, interesting and lucrative, not to mention the fact that they can lead to amazing things! By: LizzieAnnDate: 14 Nov 2011 2:24 PM I absolutely detest adverts and loathe being made to watch them for surveys...has anyone ever seen the film "How to get ahead in advertising?" that sums it all up for me...vile, repulsive, money-grabbing and awful. On principle, I keep well away from them.
006.5 By: 006.5Date: 14 Nov 2011 3:15 PM John, if you think we have too many adverts, you should try and watch american tv. On my recent holiday over in the states I ahd a day off from the usual sight seeing, theme parks, shopping etc, to give my poor old feet a rest. I was able to watch 2-3 programs all atonce due to the amount of adverts and the time they are on. As an example I was watching a program called Boarder, when no sooner than the titles finished and it went to adverts, which lasted over 5 minutes or so. I then switched channels to some sports channel and was watching about fishing when it went to adverts. I checked the other channel I was watching and it was still adverts, so I tried another channel and the same thing, adverts. I never did get to watch a complete program as I was fed up of the adverts.
briskem1 About me: I'm a cat ! Why I like surveys: if i win my slave can buy me tuna! By: briskem1Date: 14 Nov 2011 4:13 PM ohhh yes George is so right even the so called advert free 'public tv has plaintif cries for donations ..albeit at 'each' end of a programme.
spiderwebber8 About me: I am female have 2 lovely kids and a partner plus a cheeky dog Why I like surveys: There intriging, different each time gives you something to thing about, its good to express your views and voice your opinions from time to time By: spiderwebber8Date: 14 Nov 2011 5:09 PM I actually dont mind adverts these days simply because I dont watch much tv anyway and I often find when im doing surveys they'll ask me advert questions which I can never answer, its always no I havent seen it before lol so the only solution is record all or stop watching tv hehe.
John Fitch By: John FitchDate: 14 Nov 2011 6:54 PM George I agree. Each time I'm in the US I notice twice the advert breaks. At least with aHD drive recorder you record the whole series and fast forward all the adverts.Billions are spent on advertising.Do companies honestly think the payback exceeds the cost?

Why I like surveys: They are fun, interesting and lucrative, not to mention the fact that they can lead to amazing things! By: LizzieAnnDate: 15 Nov 2011 8:40 PM Oh yes, why do they do it?? Because TV is the absolute epitome of all bad taste and it gets shoved down everyone's throats....have you never read "1984????" Big Brother is ALWAYS watching you and hey, it works both ways....we buy into the biggest lie there is....that we are watching entertainment????? Balderdash!
KatieN About me: I love taking part in active, lively discussions. Why I like surveys: It's great to be able to give your opinion, and be active in lots of different communities. By: KatieNDate: 16 Nov 2011 9:42 AM 1984 - one of my favourite books, Lizzie! I'm actually re-reading it at the moment, as it's been about 20 years since I last read it. Imagine if we couldn't switch off our telescreens, as Winston Smith described?
