I overheard this the other day on a bus ..2 'old ducks' talking, ... quote 'why did Jesus have to be born on the 25th December..I mean with Christmas shopping and all that'!!!!!!!!!!!! And that was not meant as a joke. Maybe that's what has become of us ..money orientated?

Perhaps if it had been mid- summer we'd be on holiday and not have to bother!

Jesus was never born on 25th December, sorry to say, but 25th December was a pagan holiday which was adopted by the Christian church - if you read your bible, you will see that shepherds watching their flocks by night would never have happened in December as it would have been far too cold!! Sorry to rain on your parade....but I love the spirit of Christmas and every year I get out my moth-eaten copy of A Christmas Carol and re-read it as soon as the Christmas holidays start because it reminds me that you should keep Christmas in your heart and your soul and your mind every day of the year!!! :)
