Results from the March omnibus survey

MadonnaThe March omnibus survey was quite a mix of questions we ran for some of our clients; from how you feel about your manager to what Madonna wore at the Oscars. That is what we like about our omnibus surveys- they are always interesting!

So what did we find out? Well, out of the 3168 responses gained in total nearly 55% of you don’t care what Madonna wears, while 26% thought it was right for her to wear such a dress, and 19% didn’t like her wearing such a dress. When split by gender 31% of men were much more positive towards Madonna’s dress than women (only 22% liked her in that dress). I wonder if it had anything to do with it being see-through chaps?

London2012Another good picture question we asked was about the London 2012 Olympic Logo. It caused a lot of controversy at the time of release but now we seem to be seeing it regularly how do people feel about it? We asked and you answered-

43% of you didn’t like it when it was unveiled and still don’t like it now. That is a strong consensus! Only 11% of people have always liked it.

We wondered what people in the industry thought of it from a design point of view so we asked one Rob (of our two very talented graphic designers) to comment on it .To paraphrase, Rob thought it was disgusting when it first came out, particularly knowing the amount of money that was spent on it. He said as time has passed he’s become more indifferent to it and does see that actually it does lend itself quite well to different applications e.g. being shown on the side of a bus or on a sports drink bottle (apparently this is very important in the world of design) but he doesn’t like the fact that the “London” text and the Olympic logo seemed to be added as an afterthought. Personally I can’t stand the little mascots but the less said about that the better…

We’ll be putting an Olympic topic on the forums so please let us know how you feel about the 2012 Olympics, from the logo to the games and through the hype.

New site developments

New site developments

Anyone who posts regularly might have noticed we now have an edit and delete button- should you wish to use them on anything you’ve posted. Some forums users also have personal avatar pictures. Richard hopes to be able to integrate this feature in with the settings so you’ll soon be able to upload and change your own pictures

At the moment these have to be added manually so if you would like your own picture as your avatar on the site you’ll need to email us with the picture and then we can add it. It’s certainly interesting to see the different pictures up there so far, hopefully you’ll agree it’s starting to feel more like a little community.

Other changes/additions we hope to make will be to allow for much fresher content, particularly on the news page. We are really happy with the rest of the site content but we do feel like this page lacks a certain something. A new content management system should sort this out!

Recent Polls

Recent Polls

Thank you to everyone who suggested a poll on the back of last month’s newsletter. We had a quite a few suggestions but not all have been made into polls yet but keep checking and we’ll keep them up to date for you. Our recent polls have been quite topical, one about Mothers day (I’m glad to see most people do get their Mummy’s something!) and another one about the upcoming royal wedding. If you aren’t too tired with all the hype about the wedding, please do let us know if and how you’ll be celebrating.
