One Million Kids in Poverty. One million pensioners too.
In today's every Newspaper Headline and yet the CONS Government refuses to listen.
Shame to those who vote for them

Yes Oliver (thanks for highlighting this) its a disgusting figure two million+ in poverty, this government lie about everything and its shameful that some people believe them, My own council has 44% less money to function on this coming financial year and what makes this even worse is our local MP a tory voted for it. Its an affluent area for some so we can never get rid of our MP until people get their heads out of the sand, and realise just what is happening NOW in our country.

Statistics show that over the last 30 years, poverty has been on the decline under both Labour and Tory Governments. The upturn has just been the last year. The TUC's answer is a minimum wage of £10.Companies will pay £10 but to a reduced workforce, they can not afford to otherwise. Result, a lot of low paid workers, not working.

About me: I am a Scottish Nationalist with socialist leanings. I firmly believe that we should question "facts" put before us. Not everything in black and white makes sense to me!
Why I like surveys: I like surveys, purely and simply, because the "rewards" mount up to pay for the kids Christmasses!

They're happy to pay £10 an hour to a reduced workforce but still expect the output to be that of a full complement of staff in order to maintain their profits that are so generously spread among bosses and shareholders. Dirty greed methinks!

Even ignoring the third world, increased poverty is a global problem.Japan and USA poverty on the increase.Within the EU, 10 countries have higher poverty rate than the UK and 24 countries have higher persistent poverty rate than the UK.The only country which " bucks the trend" is Russia.Maybe that's the sort of Government we need !

In league tables in his county where once we were amongst the leaders sadly this days we have the job of propping up most of the rest....Sad times indeed.
