Are there so many previously bullied people out there exacting their revenge via their keyboards? More and more I find that freedom of speech is being undermined by a narrow-minded few. I'll be interested in any responses to this!

There are a lot of people with only one brain cell between them who think that they know and are the arbiters of everything.

They are so self-obsessed that they cannot possibly see another's viewpoint and, even if they could, would immediately say it was wrong without even thinking about it.

There is also the fact that they cannot allow anyone to have a point of view unless it completely chimes with theirs. They are pathetic and I just totally ignore them - they are not worth my time or energy.

I thought we were all entitled to our own opinions, I usually find it best to tackle the person or people that you think are doing this.
It takes me back to a day several years ago when all pupils at our local school came home with a letter for their parents, it stated that some children were coming to school dirty, that letter was an insult to most of the parents, the school stated it did not want to upset the few parents of the few children coming to school dirty, so instead they upset all the others.

Wendy,
All this stuff is caused by Political Correctness gone berserk -
nobody wants to say what the REAL truth is in case it offens the perpetrators BUT, it always end up offending the innocent.

Had a similar incident where we live, where a manic woman drives at dangerous speeds, so the Police sent a letter to all six houses in our small close, telling us all not to speed.

Absolutely disgusting and pathetic.

The police did that? No investigation took place then, the trouble is these days things like that are down to this GVTs cuts.

If you visit my house you will speak the truth, but that's just my opinion, as I said we are all entitled to our opinions, also we have a saying if you don't like dogs do not visit my house.

I will agree to disagree with somebody. But I will certainly listen to what they say. I blame some overly politically correct people. And also some who have no sense of humour.

Interesting. I somewhat expected some responses at the same time as expecting certain members NOT to respond. I was correct in my expectations!

Well give us a chance Vinny!

If you got a letter saying some children were going to school dirty, and you knew your child wasn't dirty, why would it upset you? The letter wasn't accusing you of anything.

And police reminding everybody not to speed sounds like a reasonable idea.

Perhaps people are too quick to take offence when none is intended.

OK, here's one. There's none more narrow minded than a racist.

Guthers, agreed. Unfortunately, you saw a thread that you thought was racist. The thread/topic was deleted so we can not comment on whether we agree or disagree with your view.

I also saw the post and struggle to see how else it could have been interpreted. I was disgusted at the time and remain so.

People should think before posting such comments instead of deleting afterwards where it was seen by some and seemed to cause a lot of offence.I can not comment on the actual thread one way or another as it was deleted before I could see it.
